CBD court days involve security screening, lifts and busy waiting areas. I'll meet you at the entrance and get you to the right room. See court and tribunal support for how the day works.
Workplace meetings and mediation in Brisbane
I attend disciplinary, performance, grievance, investigation and redundancy meetings at workplaces across greater Brisbane, from CBD offices to suburban sites.
For mediation, the Queensland Government's Dispute Resolution Centre for the south-east of the state is in Brisbane. Many private mediators and law firms are in the CBD too.
Preparing for a day in the Brisbane CBD
- Allow extra time. CBD traffic, parking and security queues add up. I'll suggest a time and place to meet before you go in.
- Check the daily law list on the morning of a court date. Queensland Courts publishes it online, and it shows the courtroom and the time your matter is listed.
- Bring your documents, the letter or notice you received, and your own notes.
- Plan for waiting. Courts and tribunals often run late. Bring water, something to eat and anything you need to stay comfortable.
- Keep your afternoon free if you can. Long days and late finishes are common.
What I do, and what I don't
I sit beside you, take notes and type them up within 24 hours. I ask for breaks or for questions to be repeated, handle the little things, and debrief with you straight afterwards.
I don't give legal, HR or medical advice, speak for you, or act as your advocate. That boundary is what makes a support person welcome in the room.
Booking in Brisbane
Every booking starts with a free 15-minute call and a written quote that includes any travel. I'm available Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, and weekends by arrangement. For long hearing days, the hearing or mediation day option covers a half or full day.
